Kova ("we", "our", "us") operates the Kova application at kova.app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our service.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password (or third-party authentication credentials via Google OAuth).

Usage Data

We collect data about how you use Kova, including:

Call logs (phone numbers dialed, outcomes, timestamps)
Lead data you save (business names, phone numbers, websites, ratings)
Emails composed and sent through the platform
AI chat messages and generated content
Lists you create and manage
Analytics and performance metrics

Payment Information

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank account, or full payment details on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data in accordance with PCI-DSS standards. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Data

Our lead finder uses the Google Maps Platform to retrieve publicly available business information (names, phone numbers, addresses, ratings, websites). This data comes from Google and is subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

Local Storage

We store certain data locally on your device using browser localStorage, including preferences, email history, lead notes, and session data. This data does not leave your device unless synced to your account.

To provide and maintain the Kova service
To process your subscription and payments
To generate AI-powered scripts, emails, and coaching
To score and analyze leads for your sales efforts
To track your call activity and analytics
To operate our affiliate program
To send service-related communications (not marketing)
To improve and develop new features

3. AI and Data Processing

Kova uses Anthropic's Claude AI to generate call scripts, emails, objection handling, lead insights, and coaching. When you use AI features, relevant context (lead details, your offer, your stats) is sent to Anthropic's API for processing. Anthropic does not use API inputs to train their models. 4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

Supabase - database hosting and authentication
Stripe - payment processing
Anthropic - AI content generation
Google Maps Platform - lead discovery
Netlify - application hosting

We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect our rights.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication via Supabase Auth, and environment variables for API keys. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Call logs, leads, and emails are retained until you delete them or close your account. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

Access - Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction - Request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion - Request deletion of your personal data
Portability - Request your data in a machine-readable format
Opt-out - Opt out of certain data processing

California Residents (CCPA)

You have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion, and opt out of any sale of personal information (we do not sell your data).

EU/UK Residents (GDPR)

Our legal basis for processing is contract performance (providing the service you signed up for) and legitimate interest (improving our product). You may contact us to exercise your GDPR rights.

8. Children's Privacy

Kova is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Cookies and Tracking

Kova uses browser localStorage for functionality (not tracking). We load Google Maps scripts which may set cookies per Google's policies. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated date.
